Picture/Message Board

Sorry I totally forgot to post today! But no worries, I finally remembered. This week I was totally stumped for what to do for my craft. I asked my 11 year old cousin for some help. She knew just what to do. She ran into her room and grabbed an awesome picture/message board.

It's super easy to make. To make your own board, you start with a board (wooden or stiff cardboard). You can choose whatever size you want. This one was about 24x18 inches. First, she covered it in batting. You can do a couple layers, it's really up to how much you want to do. Simply glue it down by spraying the board with spray glue. Next, cover the batting with fabric. Depending on the board size is how much fabric you'll need. To calculate how much fabric you need, add about 4-6 inches onto the length of the board and that should fit the board nicely. To attach the fabric, use a staple gun or a strong adhesive. On a diagonal, place ribbon to your board. Attach the ends to the back of the board the same way you attached your fabric. Now, do the same thing in the opposite direction with your ribbon. Where the ribbons cross, you can hot glue down buttons or you can just glue the cross section together. If you chose cardboard, you can push a brad through the ribbons and fabric and cardboard (you might want to punch a small hole in the fabric and ribbons first then the brad.) And now you have a cute board!

Hey girls! I love your blog - especially your humor on your About Us Page. You see I am one of four girls too - no brothers! It reminds me so much of my sisters and I!
I am following you all now (and found you through Thrifty 101) and would love a follow back if you have a chance!
Come see me at www.cookieandclaire.blogspot.com

This is so pretty.
I made one for my daughter years ago, we used ceiling tiles as we had just put in a drop ceiling in our downstairs rec room.
