How I Found My Fabulous and You Can Too!

I've been in need of feeling fabulous lately. So I took Brooke's advice and did a few things:

Painted my nails. A great activity to go along with watching Project Runway after my baby is asleep

Today I was NOT feeling it, but I didn't want to look that way when running errands. I've found when you look better you feel better!

So I put on some make up and earrings. I braided my hair and threw a hat on to cover the greasiness and voila! I wouldn't have usually paired pearls and my Yankees cap, but I think it works! I felt much better walking out of the house having spent just 15 minutes on myself. And my nails are still painted, so that's a plus.

Now go take on the day, FABULOUSLY!!

Inexpensive Ways to Feel More Fabulous

As a stay-at-home mom some (most) days I end up getting dressed late in the day and sometimes not at all. I end up just feeling like Mommy and not my own person. I think we should all be proud of how we look. It's not vanity it's all a part of confidence and knowing you're putting your best foot forward.

Recently I have been trying to feel more fabulous and these are some ways that I have found make me feel more fabulous!
  1. Paint your nails. You could go get this done or do it yourself. For Christmas I asked for nail polish and my awesome family got me some cute kits. One is Ombre purple, one is "caviar beads", I got a couple sparkly ones, and a matte finish one. Having my nails done makes me feel fabulous. I do two coats and a clear top coat to make it look professional.
  2. Get your eyebrows waxed. It's not expensive- I don't like to pay more than $10 (plus tip of course). Trust me- an esthetician can make your eyebrows fabulous and for $10 every 6 weeks it's not a huge chunk of the budget.
  3. Wear animal print. I got these new shoes on sale at Target recently and they are fabulous!
  4. Buy nice comfy clothes. I'm going to admit a little secret to you- on days when I don't have plans to leave the house I excitedly tell my husband they are "leggings days!" If you're wearing plaid flannel pjs you probably won't feel fabulous so just get some comfy clothes that are a little cuter. Some examples:

  5. Buy a trendy item. I try to find trendy items on the cheap. Try stores like Forever 21 or H&M where you can get an item that is on trend but inexpensive. Fabulous for cheap is awesome!

  6. Try a new beauty tutorial. I will be sharing a few of my favorites next week.
  7. Whiten your teeth at home. Kandee Johnson does a great tutorial for this product here and it's less than $10!

What are some ways you feel fabulous?

Chopped!

So after having KZ I started to feel a little restless with my hair. When I put my diaper bag on my shoulder my hair would get caught under the strap. Everyday I would just throw it up and later get a headache from how heavy it was. So I decided to chop it. I chopped my long hair off almost 6 years ago when I first got married and hated it. This time has been completely different.

Having shorter hair feels natural and so much better. It takes half the time to fix (even if it still takes 20 minutes, my hair is thick, okay!) and it gets fixed everyday. I don't have the stress headaches from my hair.

The only disadvantages are it's not quite as versatile but I'm finding new hairstyles to enjoy.

Here is the picture I brought into the stylist.

Have you done anything courageous lately?

What I Wore: Maternity- Green, Maroon, and Gray

Remember how I mentioned here that I had bought a few pairs of pants in a couple sizes up to wear during pregnancy? This is one of the pairs that I bought. They were super stretchy and comfy. This infinity scarf is super soft and great for the fall. These flats are awesome. They have a fancy gold detail that I love to play up with other gold accessories and I love their funky color.

Skinny Corduroys: Old Navy they have some great colors for fall.
Ballet Flats: Elle (sold at Kohl's)
Scarf: Target similar
Shirt: Motherhood Maternity similar

I also wanted to wish Jasmine a very happy birthday!!

What I Wore: Maternity- Pink and Black

Brooke's baby arrived Thursday night! We're so happy! Mother and baby are now doing well. Brooke thoughtfully scheduled all her posts for you, so let's celebrate!

In the South we have a strange transition period between summer and fall. It can be warm enough for short sleeves straight through October. Here is an outfit I wore for late summer/early fall to church.

Dress: Old Navy
Sweater: Target similar
Shoes: ShoeFab similar

During pregnancy I loved wearing a skinny belt to accentuate my waist (or where it used to be). It made my tummy not look quite so big :)

What I Wore: Maternity- Coral and Navy

Even though I've had the baby, I'm going to share with you a few outfits that I enjoyed while pregnant!

Navy and Coral are two colors I had never paired but I love seeing those outfits on Pinterest.

I got these cords at the beginning of the summer in a couple sizes up so I could wear them through the summer. I got them for $6! I paired them with a navy maternity shirt and some navy shoes.

This outfit would also be great paired with some gold jewelry or cheetah print like in the first example above.

Skinnies: Old Navy
Shirt: Motherhood similar
Shoes: Kmart

Look for the rest of the outfits coming up this week.

Are you looking for a costume to wear this year and you are pregnant? Look no further! On Jordan's personal blog she has a huge round up of maternity costumes. Go check them out!
