Slouchy Moebius cowl

Have you ever made a Moebius strip? You take a strip of paper, turn one end 180 degrees so there's a twist in the middle and tape the ends together. If you put a pen on the strip and draw a line, the twist makes it so you actually draw on both sides of the paper and come back to where you started! (Okay, so I guess that means there only one "side.")

I love the idea of knitting with a twist, so when I came across this slouchy cowl pattern on Ravelry, I knew I wanted to give it a try.

It's a very quick and easy knit: it's in seed stitch, which is like a one-stitch checkerboard of knit and purl stitches. You use two strands of a bulky yarn and large needles to knit up a long rectangle, then twist and sew the ends together. The twist goes in the front (Ignore how tired I look ;):

The yarn I used was a bulky wool yarn called Filo from Roberts Arts & Crafts in Very Violet. My page for this project on Ravelry gives a few more technical details.

I love the colors of this, and it's nice and warm, but I have to admit I think I might have over-blocked this by stretching the fabric too much during the blocking process. I'm pretty sure I can fix it by blocking it again, a little less aggressively. How can you tell if a piece is over-blocked? It's not as stretchy as it should be, loses its drape or just looks too stretched out!
