DIY Wallpaper Removal

When we did my bedroom redo we bought a wallpaper remover. It was pretty quick and easy. I just had a border around the top of my walls. We decided to redo our dining room at home. While my mom was at work and I was at home bored I decided to start tackling the wallpaper in there. We had covered half the wall many, many years ago in wallpaper. It was a pretty simple task but after spraying the bottom half of 4 walls my hand was very tired! While peeling off wallpaper, I found it best to start at the corner of the wallpaper or a seam. Sometimes a little scraping was needed to get under the slicked down edges but the wallpaper came off easily and in under 2 hours we were done. After, we washed the walls of any excess remover.

 

 

Work in Progress

 Here is what I have been working on this week. They are both works in progress. (Just like me!)

This is for the Quilts for Kids project. I think Brooke is going to write about that, so I won't say more here. They sent the fabric and I made the quilt. I just need to bind it. I am going to use what I learned at the Quilt Expo 2 weeks ago to bind it.

Here's the back. You have to quilt it a lot!

I am also going to send this one that I made mostly from my stash and using the new Reney Right Tool  I bought at the expo.

I love it! It was a lot of work for my little brain, but I learned so much. I can't wait to try the pattern again. I need to put on borders and finish it up.
I watched  (with my back to the TV because I don't feel like moving my sewing machine) season one of Downton Abbey as I made these two quilts. Whenever I look at these quilts I think of the people on the show. Makes me a little sad. Don't tell me what happens in season 2!

Finally, one work that is finished! 

I finished these a few weeks ago and finally hung the wall decor and the sconces.
